Sanitary Napkins Packaging

In this project, I provided the Packaging for Sanitary Napkins, tackling different problems which I observed during my research. The solution which came offers a
bio-degradable, environmental-friendly, easily-disposable packaging for Napkins, which I am hoping can be used without the 'black polythene'!
The Problem
One of the problems associated with the use of sanitary napkin has been the disposal. Soiled napkins are unhygienic and unattractive. When disposed in public washrooms, the odour of the soiled napkins attract many stray animals resulting in the littering of the waste, resulting, making cleaning people prone to various diseases and faced unhygienic conditions.
The sanitary napkin is a feminine personal care article, sometimes bring shy to the purchaser while purchasing it. The prevailing packaging is not provided in a discreet way to purchase. This could leads to embarrassment and an effortful experience to the purchaser. Other material such as newspaper, Cloth or polythene (preferably black) is needed for a proper disposal.
Concepts
Concept 1 : Rolling Mechanism
To use a string in between the packaging, which can be used to roll the napkin after use, making it easier to then dispose off the napkin.
Concept 2 : Pocket Mechanism
This concept is basically a pocket in which the sanitary napkin is kept and is disposed off by keeping the napkin in the same.
Concept 3 : Wrapping Mechanism

Concept 4 : Strings Mechanism
A simple solution where the strings are used in the packaging, which when pulled, allow the packaging to be made in a pouch like shape, which can then be disposed off safely.

Final Solution
The solution is to provide sanitary napkin packaging for both individual napkin as well as secondary outside packaging. The individual packaging has a fabric based packaging with channels provided for strings which run longitudinally. The strings run through a channel on a rectangular fabric. The strings are made pass through the channel from one end and terminating it with a knot on the other edge. Similarly another string is passed in the opposite holes and made it terminate with a knot. Resulting, making ‘U’ shaped passages on both sides in opposite direction. When the strings are pulled it results in pouch like formation. The individual sanitary napkin with the packaging are rolled and is clasped with an adhesive strip and is arranged in a round drawstring bag for purchasing purposes.
Cloth Used in Outer Packaging, using different pattern prints to enhance the visuals.
Trying out different type of textile material, finally after a usage survey, selecting a material of cotton blend for its low price, sturdiness and ease of use.
